Hafeez Shaikh to chair ECC meeting today

Islamabad: The meeting of Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet will be held in Islamabad today, GNN reported.

Adviser to Prime Minister on Finance Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh will preside over the meeting. According to details, an eight-point agenda would be discussed during the meeting.

The issue of granting subsidies to agricultural tubewells in Balochistan will be considered during the meeting.

The ECC session will approve 1 billion rupees fund to promote tourism.

Supplementary grants for several projects in Afghanistan is also included in the agenda of the meeting.

The supply of Re-Gasified Liquefied Natural Gas (RLNG) in the export sector will also be discussed.

The meeting will the new mechanism of power sector subsidy while the session will also approve the export of chemicals by amending the Import Policy Order 2016.

A summary of inexpensive electricity provision for export sector will also be presented in the meeting.

Yesterday, meeting of Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has been called in federal capital to consider subsidy for Ramazan relief package and importing three lac tonnes of sugar.

The meeting will be presided over by Adviser to the Prime Minister on Finance and Revenue Abdul Hafeez Shaikh.
