Nepra approves hike in electricity prices
Islamabad: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) on Thursday raised electricity tariff by Rs 1.62 per unit.

The decision has been taken on account of quarterly fuel price adjustment. It will put an additional burden of Rs162 billion on electricity consumers.

The new electricity price will come into effect after the federal government issues a notification in this regard, said Nepra in a statement.

Following the imposition of new electricity rates, previous adjustment will be ineffective. Nepra said that new hike in electricity prices will not affect the consumer due to revoking the previous adjustment.
