Karachi: A day after Pakistan inked USD 6 billion bailout package deal with International Monetary Fund (IMF), the benchmark KSE 100-index on Monday plummeted 816 points, GNN News reported.

The overall loss amounted to 2.7pc of the trading volume.

As soon as the trading began on first day of the business weekend, the 100-index rocketed sky-high. The bullish trend lasted only for few minutes after which bearish trend engulfed the stock exchange.

The bearish trend continued till the trading end. The market closed 33,900 points after registering a loss of 816 points or 2.4%.

According to the details, 89.9 mln shares of the benchmark companies change hands during the session.

As many as 89.9 million shares of the benchmark companies, worth Rs4.7 billion, changed hands during the session.
