NA adopts budget for FY 2019-20
As per details garnered, the total outlay of budget for FY 2019-20 stands at Rs 8238 billion.
Treasury benches made victory symbol after approval of budget from the lower house of the parliament whereas opposition chanted slogans.
After conclusion of the debate on budgetary session, lawmakers voted on the passing of the budget on instructions of the NA Speaker, Asad Qaiser.
176 lawmakers voted in the favor of the budget while 147 cast vote against it.
After vote count, NA Speaker announced that House had adopted budget for FY 2019-20.
Likewise, NA has also adopted Finance Bill. Later, the session prorogued till June 29.
Earlier today, responding to points of opposition members, Minister of State for Revenue Hammad Azhar said the present government is taking the economy towards stability.
He said previous governments are responsible for the current economic situation of the country.
Hammad Azhar the PML-N government put the economic stability of the country at stake during its last two years in power. He pointed out that Foreign Exchange Reserves declined by ten billion dollars in the last one and half year tenure of PML-N.
