Major relief for mobile users as SC abolishes administrative tax
Following the Supreme Court’s orders, mobile network operators in Pakistan will no longer be charging administrative charges on mobile top-ups.

The Supreme Court in its order of April 24, 2019 had barred mobile phone service providers from charging an additional 10 percent from the users in the name of administrative/service charges.

The mobile phone users would now receive Rs 88.9 on charge of Rs100 on their mobile phones.

Prior to this ruling, people used to get around Rs72 to Rs77 balance in their account.

The court ruling allowed government to collect tax but instructed mobile phone companies to not charge any amount under the head of operational and service charges.
