Islamabad: Negotiations between Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) chairman, Shabbar Zaidi, and businessmen hailing from Faisalabad ended in stalemate as former refused to withdraw conditions of 17pc sales tax and CNIC.

As per details garnered, a 10-member delegation representing Faisalabad’s business community called on FBR chairman here in Islamabad.

Sources privy to development stated that four lawmakers—who attended the huddle—also failed to convince FBR chairman to withdraw aforementioned conditions.

The condition of CNIC will be implemented in August.
