FMA to observe three-day countrywide strike from July 17
Lahore: Executive Committee of Pakistan Flour Mills Association on Friday has announced to observe strike on July 17 against imposition of 17 per cent sales tax (ST) on various products of wheat.

PFMA Punjab chapter chairman Habibur Rehman Leghari says the government has imposed 17pc sales tax on wheat flour, fine, bran and refined flour that would lead to unprecedented price hike as roti, naan and bakery items would go out of reach of the commoners.

KBP leader Mian Rashid Minhala says the traders are rightly protesting against the levy of new and high rates of taxes which, he says, have badly affected the industry, agriculture and commerce.
