FBR chairman says revamping tax-collection system thoroughly
Islamabad: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) chairman, Shabbar Zaidi, on Friday stated that incumbent government was taking steps aimed at revamping tax system thoroughly.

Addressing a ceremony here in Islamabad, Zaidi deplored that previous governments had not taxed the rich people.

“Owing to absence of proper system of check-and-balance on Afghan Transit, Pakistan has suffered huge losses”, apprised Zaidi.

Renewing his pledge, Zaidi vowed to collect tax on real income. “All stakeholders have agreed upon collecting tax from the rich people.”

Zaidi stated that saving rate was very low in Pakistan. “We are facing wide ranges of challenges. We conducted a study and found that all clients were earning a profit of 25pc”, revealed the chairman.
