Oscars 2020: Pitt, Phoenix bag awards for their remarkable performances
California: Parasite wins best picture, Joaquin Phoenix wins best actor for Joker and Brad Pitt takes home best actor in supporting role for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Organized at the famous Dolby Theatre in California, the star-studded event was attended by many celebrities from around the world.

Brad Pitt won his first Academy Award for acting, though he has previously won an Oscar as producer on the best picture winner “12 Years a Slave.” He has earlier been nominated as an actor for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Twelve Monkeys, Moneyball and as a producer for Moneyball and The Big Short.

Joaquin Phoenix won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his brilliant performance in Phillips’ Joker. He has become the second actor to win an Oscar for playing the role of Joker after Heath Ledger, who claimed the Best Supporting Actor Award for playing the same character in Nolan’s The Dark Knight.

Moreover, South Korean thriller film Parasite won the award in Best Picture category. It is the first time that a foreign-language film has claimed an Academy Award.
