Sanam Marvi's husband denies allegations of domestic abuse
Lahore: Hamid Ali, husband of singer Sanam Marvi, has denied the allegations of domestic abuse levied on him.

While responding to Sanam Marvi’s khula petition that she filed last week, Hamid has said that he never subjected his wife to any kind of torture.

"I never misbehaved with my wife, didn't abuse her either. I take care of her and my children and their finances as well. My whole family loves her," he said.

Hamid has also requested the court to dismiss of Marvi's plea for a khula.

Sanam Marvi, a folk and sufi singer, had moved a family court in Lahore seeking divorce from her husband.

Marvi, who debuted in 2009 on PTV but she shot to fame after performing at Coke Studio, has filed for khula citing domestic abuse on Hamid Ali’s part.

The singer, in the petition, said that she got married of Ali in 2009 and they both have three children.

She claimed that the attitude of her husband went unfair towards her after some time.

“Hamid started torturing me in front of the children but I tolerated the behavior for the sake of my children,” she said, adding that now it was over.
