Singer Jawad Ahmad pays tribute to medical staff handling coronavirus outbreak
Lahore: Jawad Ahmad, a Pakistan pop singer and musician, has paid tribute to doctors and other medical staff, who are on the frontlines of the coronavirus fight, with a song.

Ahmad made changes to lyrics of his famous song “Humain tum se pyar hai” and called the medical professionals of the country “Messiah of nation”.

“I salute to doctors, paramedics, nurses and all related to the health profession for performing their duties in this tough time,” he said.

He asked people to hoist white flags on their roofs on coming Friday to pay tribute to the brave people fighting against the coronavirus.

The number of total coronavirus cases surged to 1,000 in Pakistan while 19 people have recuperated from the disease so far.

The country reported 24 cases during the last 24 hours. The infectious disease has claimed seven lives in Pakistan while five patients are reported to be in critical condition.

Authorities have imposed lockdown in major cities, including Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, to limit the spread of the infection through social distancing.
