Larkana: The number of HIV cases identified so far in Larkana has crossed 287 as 50 new cases were identified on Friday, the Sindh AIDS Control Program (SCAP) has said.
The number of HIV cases identified so far in Larkana has crossed 287 as 50 new cases were identified on Friday, the Sindh AIDS Control Program (SCAP) has said.
 
Of the affected people, 220 are children.
 
The screening process is still going on at Ratodero, where so far 6,200 people have been tested for the virus. Treatment has also started for 82 of the affected children.
 
Sindh Government has decided to expand the program in other districts of the province as nine people, eight of them children, were identified as HIV positive in Shikarpur.
 
All nine cases were identified in Dhakkan, a village where the screening tests were held. The youngest patient was a one year old child.
