Punjab bans use of social media, mobile phones in educational institutions
Lahore: Punjab government on Friday slapped a ban on the use of social media and mobile phones in both private and government educational institutes, GNN reported.

A notification in this regard has been issued by Punjab’s Department of Education.

Also, a draft in this regard has been forwarded to all district education authorities. The decision has been taken under anti-narcotics act.

The decision to slap ban on use of mobile phones and social media came after widespread complaints from the parents.  

The notification stated that to safeguard young generation from the ‘menace of drugs’ it is mandatory to ban the use of mobiles and social media in schools.
