Delay in Nawaz Sharif's medical treatment can harm his health: Dr Adnan
Islamabad: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s personal physician Dr Adnan Khan on Friday repeated that said that delay in Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo’s London departure for the medical treatment can have adverse impact on his health and life.

Dr Adnan said in his tweet that Nawaz Sharif’s health is still critical. Dr Adnan in the tweet also attached pictures of a letter sent by the Medical Board of the Services Hospital to Punjab’s Health Department on Sunday.

In the letter, the special medical board concluded that it agreed with the doctors of the Services Hospital for moving the former premier abroad for medical treatment.

The reaction came after PML-N leaders and Sharif family members rejected government’s decision to allow former PM to go abroad for treatment for four weeks on one-time condition after submitting Rs7 billion as indemnity bond.

On October 21, Nawaz Sharif was rushed to the Services Hospital from Kot Lakhpat Jail after his platelets dropped to a dangerously low level with his doctors raising alarming concerns.

Dr Adnan Khan, a personal physician of Sharif, had informed Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government about the deteriorating condition of ex-PM and urged to immediately shift him to the hospital for medical treatment.

Later, incarcerated former PM was diagnosed with acute immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP), a disorder that leads to an abrupt and sharp drop in blood platelets, according to a medical board.
