Interior ministry allows Nawaz Sharif to travel abroad
Islamabad: Ministry of Interior on Monday allowed former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to travel abroad for treatment, GNN reported.

As per details garnered, Nawaz has been given one-time travel permission by interior ministry while his name would remain on Exit Control List (ECL).

Earlier, the Lahore High Court (LHC) ordered to remove former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s name from Exit Control List (ECL) for four weeks without any conditions.

According to court’s order, Nawaz Sharif’s brother Shehbaz Sharif was also allowed to travel with him.

In the hearing, LHC had decided to prepare its own draft after both government and PML-N had rejected each other’s draft in a plea seeking removal of former premier Nawaz Sharif’s name from the Exit Control List (ECL).

According to the draft, Nawaz Sharif was allowed to travel abroad for a period of four weeks but he could avail extension if his health condition is not better. Also, government would be able to contact Nawaz Sharif through embassy.
