Yasmeen terms Nawaz Sharif’s medical report ‘unsatisfactory’
While addressing a press conference today, she said that Punjab Government is unsatisfied with the medical reports of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
“The period of Nawaz Sharif’s bail on medical grounds ended on December 25, 2019 and no report was being submitted to us till that time. He was given a bail on medical grounds for six weeks. On December 27, his lawyer Khawaja Harris sent us report which is unsatisfactory and insufficient,” she said.
The provincial minister also raised concerns over the released image of Nawaz Sharif in which he can be seen sitting at a local restaurant of London.
“There are several concerns over the released image of former premier. It is shocking that he is drinking tea while sitting in a restaurant when his condition is claimed to be critical. We asked his personal physician, Dr. Adnan, whether roaming around in London is part of treatment?” she said.
Dr. Yasmeen further said that they received a letter from Nawaz Sharif’s personal physician in which he had mentioned details of all his earlier diagnosis.
“Our own reports were sent back to us. Why no tests of Nawaz Sharif were conducted in a time period of six weeks. On what basis are they seeking more time? According to the medical board there was nothing new in the submitted reports. We feel that he is not getting any sort of treatment in London,” she said.
Dr. Yasmeen also raised question over Maryam Nawaz seeking permission to visit her ailing father.
“Does she (Maryam Nawaz) wants visit her father in a restaurant? We believe that if courts, on humanitarian and medical grounds, have given him an opportunity then he should take advantage rather misusing it,” she said.
Yesterday, a photo allegedly showing former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif dining in a restaurant in London infuriated Prime Minister Imran Khan into asking Punjab Health Minister, Dr. Yasmin Rashid, to obtain the former premier’s latest medical reports.
PM Imran Khan asked Dr. Yasmin Rashid to obtain the latest medical records so that the facts can be presented before the public.
