Death anniversary of IT expert Arfa Karim being observed today
Lahore: The sixth death anniversary of Pakistan’s youngest Microsoft Certified Professional, Arfa Karim Randhawa is being observed today.

Born on February 02, 1995, Arfa Karim became the youngest Microsoft Certified Professional at the age of nine.

In 2005, she became the recipient of Fatima Jinnah Gold Medal in the field of Science and Technology besides getting Salaam Pakistan Youth Award.

She was also invited by tech giant Bill Gates to visit Microsoft Headquarters in the United States.

She passed away on January 14, 2012 in Lahore following an epileptic attack at the age of 16.

The Arfa Software Technology Park, a science park in Lahore was named after her.
