China to send medical experts to help fight Coronavirus in Pakistan
According to Zeng Yixin, Vice Minister of China’s National Health Commission, China will send a team of medical experts to Pakistan to assist and work closely with local health workers in their fight against coronavirus pandemic.
The news has also been confirmed by Chinese Embassy in Pakistan.
“As required by Pakistani side, China is preparing a medical team to visit Pakistan and this team of experts will pay field trips to different localities in Pakistan,” Zeng said while addressing a presser in Beijing.
Zeng further said that the medical experts would also share their experiences in dealing with Covid-19 along with providing assistance and technology support.
Present on the occasion, Deng Boqing, Vice Chairman of China International Development Cooperation Agency acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts in dealing with Covid-19 and said that as China was fighting the epidemic at home, Pakistan extended great support.
“Pakistan mobilized all possible medical supplies to support China and that had moved numerous Chinese people,” he said.
He further said that the two neighboring countries are facing similar challenge and China is ready to share its experience with Pakistan and provide the country with badly needed medical supplies.
“In addition, we will also support Pakistan in building temporary quarantine hospital,” he added.
The number of total Coronavirus cases rose to 1,102 in Pakistan till Thursday morning while 21 people have recovered from the disease.
The infectious disease has claimed eight lives in Pakistan while five patients are reported to be in critical condition. A woman, who had returned from the United Kingdom, died on Wednesday (March 25) in Sohawa, a tehsil in Jhelum.
