16 doctors test positive for coronavirus at Lahore General Hospital
Lahore: As many as 16 doctors of orthopedic ward in Lahore General Hospital tested positive for the coronavirus on Thursday as total cases surged to 48,091 in Pakistan.

According to details, 16 orthopedic doctors at Lahore General Hospital have confirmed with the coronavirus. After which the General Hospital management has decided to keep the orthopedic department closed for 10 days

According to the management of the Lahore General Hospital, after the doctors tested positive for the virus, the head of the orthopedic ward has written a letter to the principal stating that the remaining doctors of the ward have been quarantined; therefore, the ward should be closed for at least 10 days.

According to a World Health Organisation report, Pakistani doctors have emerged as the most-affected ones by coronavirus among their healthcare peers, including paramedics and nurses.

It is pertinent to remember that the number of confirmed coronavirus cases surged to 48,091 in Pakistan on Thursday, while the death toll stands at 1017.

According to National Command and Control Center (NCOC), more than 2,197 cases of coronavirus were reported while 32 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours.

As many as 14,155 patients have recovered from the disease, while the country is still witnessing a consistent rise in the COVID-19 cases.
