Ruet e Hilal Committee to decide Eidul Fitr’s day, says Noor-ul-Haq
Islamabad: Federal Minister for Religious Affairs, Noor-ul-Haq Qadri has stated that Rue-e-Hilal Committee will decide the day of Eidul Fitr.

Following the presser of Federal Minister of Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry, Noor-ul-Haq Qadri stated that the decision of Eid will only be taken by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee today.

“The government and people of Pakistan will celebrate Eid according to the decision Ruet-e-Hilal Committee which will hold a session on today to sight moon,” he added.

He further said that religion and Shariah rely on Ruet for moon sighting.

“Science and modern tools can be used for evidence and vision, therefore, members of the Ministry of Science and Technology has also been included in the Central Committee this time,” he said.

He added that Fawad Chaudhry is a good friend of mine but playing ‘moon moon’ nowadays.

On the other hand, The Ruet e Hilal Committee session is being held on May 23 (today) to decide about sighting of the Shawwal moon.

The meeting will be chaired by Chairman of Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Muneeb ur Rehman in Karachi today.

Earlier, Ministry of Religious Affairs had asked the Meteorological Office to refrain from moon forecasting saying that the right is exclusively ordained for the Ruet e Hilal Committee.
