PSX incident an attack on Pakistan's economy, says governor Sindh

Karachi: Governor Sindh Imran Ismail strongly condemned the terror attack on Pakistan Stock Exchange and termed the unfortunate incident as an attack on Pakistan's economy, GNN reported.

Talking to GNN exclusively, Governor Sindh Imran Ismail said that he suspected the attack is an international conspiracy. "It is too early to say anything definitive, but India's intelligence agency RAW is suspected to behind this attack", he added.

Governor Sindh said, "As we all know, after the COVID-19, almost every country is facing worst economic crisis. Pakistan is also facing the same but at the lower extent as its GDP growth rate declined to -0.4% while India is on 4%. European countries including Italy and Spain declined to almost 12 %", he added.

"Our focus is on this operation right now, aiming to arrest terrorists as soon as possible with minimal casualties," Imran Ismail concluded.

The governor Sindh took the notice of the attack and sought detailed report from the Inspector General (IG) Sindh. He also instructed the IG & security agencies to ensure that the perpetrators to be given exemplary punishments.

Earlier, Governor Sindh tweeted, “Strongly condemn the attack on PSX aimed at tarnishing our relentless war on terror. Have instructed the IG & security agencies to ensure that the perpetrators are caught alive & their handlers are accorded exemplary punishments. We shall protect Sindh at all costs."
