Federation should take over Karachi’s control for betterment: Imran Yaqub Khan
Karachi: In order to improve devastated situation in Karachi, the federal government will have to take over control of the city, said senior journalist Imran Yaqub Khan on Friday.

Discussing dilapidated condition of rain-battered metropolitan on GNN’ show ‘View Point’ the veteran analyst expressed, “I became sad when I heard about deployment of army in Karachi”.

Explaining reason of his sadness, Khan said it is the army which protects country at borders and weeps out terrorist inside it and now it has been deployed to address urban flooding issue in Karachi.

“I salute the Pakistan Army,” he remarked.

He recalled that Muttahida Qaumi Movement and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) have been ruled Karachi but no measures were taken to address the problem.

The senior journalist said a former official of Karachi told him that when then government was asked to improve the drainage system due to changing weather condition, it denied funding just to spend money on elections.
