Police registers case of firing incident at Karachi’s Civic Centre
Karachi: Police has registered the case of firing incident at Civic Centre building of Karachi that claimed two lives and injured one.

According to details, the case has been registered on the complaint of deceased Assistant Director of Karachi Development Authority (KDA) Land Department, Wasim Usmani’s brother at the New Town Police Station.

Police has also recorded the statement of accused Muhammad Hafeez.

“I was asking for work from these two officers for a long time now. On refusal, I brought a gun from home. The shots were fired during the scuffle with both officers,” accused said in his statement.

Earlier on Tuesday, two officers of KDA Land Department were shot dead by an employee of the same department. The incident happened at the third floor of Civic Centre building.

Among the deceased include 54-year old Assistant Director Wasim Usmani and 53-year-old Additional Assistant Director Waseem Raza while accused Muhammad Hafeez sustained bullet wounds in the firing incident.

A weapon was also recovered from the office, police said.
