Opposition will see a ‘different’ Imran Khan now: PM lays down gauntlet
Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan laid down the gauntlet to the opposition on Saturday, promising that they will now encounter a “different” Imran Khan.

Addressing a congregation of Tiger Force, a charged up Imran Khan referred to opposition alliance Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) rally in Gujranwala on Friday, as a “circus”.

“There were many performers at the circus yesterday,” he told his volunteer force, while adding that he would come to the rally later. He began his address by talking about why wheat prices have gone up, blaming climate change for fewer rains during wheat plantation season. The Premier also talked about sugar prices before focusing his speech on the opposition.

Dismissing Pakistan People’s Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice-President Maryam Nawaz as “children”, Imran Khan kept most of his address focused on former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s speech.

Mentioning the death of 20 security personnel over the past two days, Imran Khan said, “They are sacrificing their lives for us. This jackal ran away with his tail between his legs, and he is using such language for our Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Director General ISI.”

Prime Minister then moved on to the political history of his rival, mentioning that Nawaz Sharif’s career started at the behest of General (retd) Ghulam Jillani. “He became Chief Minister by polishing the boots of General Zia ul Haq,” Imran Khan said to the crowd. “It is an unfortunate matter that courts have always helped him. It was Asif Ali Zardari who filed the Hudaibiya Paper Mills reference against Nawaz Sharif, not General Bajwa,” he remarked.

He said that the opposition is putting the country through what Mir Jafar and Mir Sadiq did to their people. “This attack is not on General Bajwa, it is an attack on Pakistan army, this is what Narendra Modi was mentioning.”

“These people can sell Pakistan to save their stolen wealth,” he said.

The Prime Minister then promised the opposition that they will see a different side of him. “You have only seen one Imran Khan, now you will see another,” he warned, adding that no “dacoit” will be given production orders.

He also requested National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and judiciary to hear corruption cases on a day to day basis. “My government will facilitate you in every way possible,” he said. He also said that opposition members would not be kept in VIP jails; instead they will be sent to ordinary ones.

“Nawaz Sharif, I will use full effort to bring you back to Pakistan and put you in an ordinary jail,” he concluded.
