Nawaz spoke against army after matters not settled: Imran Yaqub Khan
Lahore: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif spoke against army after his matters were not settled, said senior journalist Imran Yaqub Khan, adding that it is power struggle.

Talking on GNN’s show ‘View Point’ he said that the PML-N supremo had liked the army when he had joined politics with the support of General Jilani and became a provincial minister.

The veteran analyst further said that Nawaz Sharif had become chief minister of Punjab as late General Ziaul Haq had backed him up.

He said that the establishment and army was the apple of Nawaz Sharif’s eye when he was in power.

Imran Yaqub Khan said that the PML-N had voted in favour of army chief’s extension because its hopes were high, adding that after they failed to get a settlement they had started speaking against the army.

Nawaz Sharif believed that he has been sidelined and now he has chosen a way to emerge as an anti-establishment element.
