"Can't bring change by pressing switch, it means change in status”: Imran Khan

Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan said on Wednesday that change can't be brought about by pressing a switch, "it means change in status" at a ceremony in Islamabad.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the e-bidding, e-billing, and GIS Mapping system under the National Highway Authority, the Premier stated that e-billing technology and moving towards digitization brings transparency in the system.

While describing the benefits of e-bidding and e-billing, Imran Khan said, "From buying and selling of medicines to all administrative matters, now all are active on e-bidding and e-billing".

He said that paperless system has been in operation around the world for over 20 years, stressing that people who take advantage of outdated system will never let the system improve.

Imran Khan claimed that digitalization holds the power to bring change in society.

Prime Minister also talked about previous rulers and said that Pakistan is running on debts while people have acquired foreign assets.

While taking about corruption Imran Khan stressed that, “Unfortunately, the roots of corruption and bribery in the country have become so strong and deep that they have been engraved in the system".
