Chan’s resignation on PM’s desk as party tries to woo him back
Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan has received the resignation of Special Assistant Nadeem Afzal Chan amid attempts by members of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) to woo him back.
According to sources, Chan has decided not to withdraw his resignation under any circumstances.
“He will remain a part of party but will not take up any position,” sources revealed. The PTI leader has also returned government’s car and office.
On the other hand, key ministers of PTI include Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Zaidi, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis Zulfi Bukhari, Federal Minister for Human Rights Shireen Mazari and Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry trying to convince Nadeem Afzal Chan to withdraw the resignation.
It is pertinent to mention here that Nadeem Afzal Chan had resigned from the post of Special Assistant and Spokesperson of Prime Minister yesterday, while Prime Minister has not yet accepted his resignation.
