Indian forces deliberately targeting civilian population: DG ISPR
Rawalpindi: Director General of Inter Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor said that ceasefire violations at the Line of Control (LoC) had risen and India was deliberately targeting civilians.

DG ISPR said that Indian army deliberately targeted civilian population on Pakistani side of the border.

Addressing a news conference in Rawalpindi on Thursday, he said that fifty-five civilians have so far been martyred in the ceasefire violations by the Indian forces this year, which is the highest number in the history.

The DG ISPR said Indian forces are deliberately targeting civilians across the Line of Control.

“Ceasefire violations have risen during the last 10 years.”

He also referred to propaganda and negativity being  spread in India after  inauguration of Kartapur Corridor.

DG ISPR said that India is responding negatively to Kartarpur Border opening that will be one entry point into Pakistan for Indian Sikhs.

He said that Pakistan has taken several positive initiatives for peace with India, and the latest one is groundbreaking of Kartarpur corridor. He said that the corridor will be constructed in six months and four thousand Sikh pilgrims will be able to visit the Kartarpur daily.

He said that it will be one-way corridor from the Indian side to Kartarpur and the Sikh pilgrims will remain restricted to Kartarpur.

Major General Asif Ghafoor regretted that the Kartarpur corridor initiative was negatively presented in India. However, he hoped that India will positively respond to this goodwill gesture.
