The high court complied with the request and instructed the court registrar to schedule a hearing of the appeal against the judgement within 10 days.

Earlier on January 08, Islamabad High Court accepted Nawaz Sharif’s plea that sought an early hearing in Al Azizia reference. The petition was submitted to the high court by Nawaz Sharif’s counsel Khwaja Haris.
The petition maintained that former premier’s fundamental rights are being violated, hence a hearing on the appeal should be fixed at the earliest date possible.
The first appeal was filed by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo’s counsel on Jan 1 but the registrar office returned it after raising objections.
Whereas on Jan 3, NAB moved two appeals in the IHC, challenging the accountability court verdict in the Al-Azizia and Flagship Investment references against Sharif.
The anti-graft watchdog pleaded to increase the sentence awarded to Sharif in the Al-Azizia case and overturn his acquittal in the Flagship reference.
