Islamabad: President of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi has tendered his request to meet the family of deceased Zeeshan, who was part of the mournful Sahiwal incident, said a statement issued by the President House media wing.

According to details, Punjab Police called Zeeshan’s brother Ahtisham on Thursday night where they enlightened the family of the victim regarding the request of not only President Alvi but also the Senate Chairman Mr Sadiq Sanjrani to meet them.

Zeeshan's family was informed of Alvi's request by the police, his brother Ehtisham said, adding that he and his mother would be travelling to the capital city.

Police will arrange for their transport, he added.

Earlier on January 23, Punjab Assembly held an in-camera session, for the first time in the history, where the MPAs were briefed on the Sahiwal tragedy and progress regarding ongoing investigation by the Joint Investigation Team (JIT).

During the session, Punjab’s Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Fazeel Asghar briefed assembly members on the tragic incident and also presented the documentary evidence of Zeeshan’s contacts with Terrorists.

However, opposition rejected the JIT outcome and raised various questions over the JIT report.

Although, Zeeshan’s mother has also come out and spoken on the matter. She was quoted saying that she’s broken-hearted as her son is being labelled as a ‘terrorist’ after being brutally killed.

She said, “I demand justice for my son’s murder and the label of a terrorist should be removed from his [Zeeshan’s] name.”
