PM Khan announces new visa policy to promote investment, tourism
Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Thursday launched new visa policy aimed at attracting investors and reviving multi-billion dollars sector of tourism.

As per details garnered, PM launched new visa policy for 170 countries here in a ceremony held in the federal capital.

Under the new visa policy, business visas will be given to 90 countries whereas nationals of 55 countries will be granted visa-on-arrival. Furthermore, e-visa facility will be given to the citizens of the Turkey, United Kingdom, China, Malaysia and United Arab Emirates. If the pilot projects succeed, the facility of e-visa will be then extended to 170 countries.

On the other hand, government has already installed passenger identification system at Karachi and Lahore airports.

Addressing the ceremony, PM said that it was major step towards opening doors of Pakistan for the world. PM regretted that irreparable loss was inflicted on country’s economy in 70s while apprising that speech was started by cursing the investors.

“We have to change the mindset pertaining to investors. There were great hurdles for acquiring the Pakistani visa”, the premier was quoted as saying.

PM vowed to provide suitable atmosphere to the investors.
