Its time nation to stop glorifying money launderers: PM Imran
Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday has appealed to the nation to halt ‘glorifying money launderers’.

Taking to Twitter, PM Imran lashed out at the political leaders who, as per him, are currently seeking refuge in name of democracy.

The premier said in his tweet, “Time for the nation to stop glorifying money launderers who have damaged our nation & impoverished our people & now seeking refuge behind “democracy”. No protocol should be extended to them. Where are plunderers of public wealth given such special treatment? Time to treat them as criminals”.

Earlier on Tuesday, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that he is forming a high-level inquiry commission to probe the heavy loans taken in last 10 years and to probe corruption carried out by the past rulers.

This he stated while addressing the nation after his government presented a new budget for the 2019-20 fiscal year. He said country facing crunch economic situation due to wrongdoings of the past rulers.

“The government had to take difficult steps in the budget for the revival of the country’s ill economy”.

He said heavy loans were taken by PML-N and PPP in the past 10 years. Khan noted the mega money laundering case against Asif Ali Zardari was registered by the PML-N, adding that the PTI government had nothing to do with that, he continued.

The premier said the NAB is working freely today, Bureau’s chief was appointed with the joint consultation of both the parties [PPP, PML-N].
