Islamabad: Pakistan Railways (PR) on Monday informed the National Assembly’s (NA) Standing Committee on Railways that it has been decided to close trains incurring mammoth losses on the national exchequer, GNN reported.

As per details acquired, officials of the PR briefed NA Standing Committee on revenue generated by the newly-launched trains.

During briefing, it was learned that Rehman Baba Express, Jinnah Express and Faisalabad Express continued to incur losses. Likewise, Mohenjo-daro Express, Sindh Express and Shah Latif Express were also inflicting mammoth losses on national exchequer.

Officials revealed that Rawalpindi Express faces a deficit of Rs10.6 million, Mianwali Express runs at deficit of Rs10.1 million, Faisalabad Non-Stop runs at deficit of Rs10.3 million, and Mohenjo-daro Express faces losses of Rs40.5 million.

Likewsie, Sindh Express faces a deficit of Rs10.8 million and Shah Latif of Rs7 million.
