Linking standing committees’ meetings with NA huddle ‘an attack on parliament’: Bilawal

Linking standing committees meeting with NA huddle an attack on parliament - Bilawal
Islamabad: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Tuesday stated that linking meetings of standing committees with sitting of the National Assembly (NA) is an attack on the parliament.

Addressing a presser here in Islamabad, Bilawal urged Speaker NA to withdraw the notice.

“Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is taking such steps that have not been taken by even dictators”, Bilawal was quoted as saying while adding that options for PPP and opposition parties are dwindling at rapid pace.

“Even crippled democracy is better than dictatorship”, opined Bilawal. He warned that PPP will fight on every front to save the system.

“You are coercing pro-democratic forces to take an emotional step”, warned Bilawal

Replying to a question, Bilawal opined that incumbent Senate chairman should tender resignation on basis of morality. “All-parties conference (APC) and Rehbar Committee have decided to place a new Senate chairman”, added Bilawal.

He added that there exists consensus among opposition on nominating mutual candidate for the Senate chairman.

To a question about imposition of taxes, Bilawal replied that layman has suffered at the hands of unabated inflation.
