No Pakistani among those killed in Karbala stampede: FO spokesperson
In a statement issued by Foreign Ministry, the spokesperson said Pakistan Embassy Camp Office in Karbala is closely monitoring the situation.
Dr. Mohammad Faisal also his extended sincere condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
Reportedly, around 31 pilgrims had died and 100 injured in a stampede at a major shrine in the Iraqi city of Karbala as they marked the holy day of Ashura.
The incident happened toward the end of the Ashoura procession, causing panic and a stampede.
