Fawad Chaudhry terms Pakistan safe country to hold sports events
Islamabad: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcast Fawad Chaudhry on Wednesday while terming Pakistan ‘a safe country’ to hold sports event, highlighted the efforts of the state in eliminating terrorism which paved the way for organizing Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches in the country.

While addressing an inauguration ceremony of sports in Islamabad, Fawad Choudary alleged previous governments of embezzling public funds and using nation’s money for personal purposes.

“Previous governments used public funds for own use, however, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) government is taking effecting measures for improvement of sports”, Fawad maintained.

Fawad said “it is due to counter-terrorism measures that PSL has come back to Pakistan.”

“Pakistan has a high reputation in the sports arena. Pakistan has won International awards and brought home the cricket world cup. Although, along with the passage of time, we downgraded in different fields of sports.”

He noted that playgrounds are being revived in the country.

The government is effectively implementing National Action Plan against the menace of terrorism, the minister added.
