I don’t want to talk about injuries anymore: Rafael Nadal
Nadal showed no signs of any problems as he beat Daniil Medvedev 6-3, 6-0 in the Rogers Cup final on Sunday in Montreal.
The Spaniard has had his fair share of persistent injuries over the years, including at the start of this season, but the world No 2 feels he is back to full health ahead of the US Open.
When asked about his injuries and how he is coping with them Nadal said, “I don’t want to talk about injuries anymore. I have been injured more than I would like to but when I am healthy I don’t want to talk about it.”
He added that towards the end of 2018 and the start of 2019 he faced plenty of health issues but now he is improving.
“I am getting better and that is making me play better too because my mind is focused on tennis.”
The 33-year-old will take the next fortnight to prepare for the last Grand Slam of the season at the US Open where his main rivals, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic, will return to action.
