Turkish military to cross Syrian border shortly
Turkey has boosted its forces to cross Syrian border ahead of a long-threatened incursion that could target Kurdish-led forces allied to the US.

According to presidential sources, Turkey’s troops would soon cross Syrian border.

Turkey has been ready to advance in northeast Syria after US troops began vacating the border. The move came after an abrupt policy shift of US President Donald Trump that was widely criticized in Washington as a betrayal of the US's allies, the Kurds.

According to Communications Director of Turkey Fahrettin Altun, Turkey has no ambition in northeastern Syria except to neutralize a long-standing threat against Turkish citizens and to liberate the local population from the yoke of armed thugs.

Turkey wants to create a "safe zone" cleared of a Kurdish militia that will also house some of Turkey's 3.6 million Syrian refugees.
