Iran arrests several in connection with Ukraine plane crash
According to details, Iran's judiciary spokesman, Gholamhossein Esmaili, has said some people have been arrested for their role in the incident; however, he refused to comment further on the matter.
At least 176 people were killed when a Ukraine International Airlines flight crashed after taking off from Tehran.
Later, Iran admitted that they had unintentionally shot down the plane as it was crossing by a sensitive area.
Iran's president Hassan Rouhani has described the incident as an "unforgivable error" and said that all those involved will be punished.
He added that the tragic event would be investigated thoroughly and all responsible will be penalized.
"Iranian armed forces admitting their mistake is a good first step. We assure people that it will not happen again,” Rouhani said.
Initially, Iran claimed that PS 752 came down due to technical problems after leaving Imam Khomeini airport but later admitted that it had been shot down "unintentionally".
