Islamabad: Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad Saturday stated that it is the responsibility of the United Nations (UN) to stop the Israeli aggression against innocent and unarmed people of Palestine.

On his official twitter handle, the interior minister voiced his serious concerns over the continued violence against oppressed Palestinians.

“The Israeli Georgia on the oppressed and unarmed Palestinians continues for the fifth consecutive day today,” he wrote.

The minister stressed that Israel has so far martyred more than 140 Palestinians.

Sheikh Rasheed further stated that Muslim countries should take immediate notice of the genocide of Palestinians at the hands of Israeli forces.

“Muslim countries must take immediate notice of the genocide of Palestinians at the hands of Israel,” he added.

At least 137 Palestinians, including 36 children, have been killed and over one thousand have been wounded since hostilities flared up on Monday.

According to details, the Israeli military has continued its airstrikes on Gaza, targeting several areas after rockets were fired from the enclave.

It is said to be the most intense airstrikes in Gaza since the bombardment in 2014.

Following the bombardment from Israel, Hamas also launched rockets from the coastal territory towards Israel as a result of which five people were killed. Loud booms and air-raid sirens were heard across targeted cities, which included Tel Aviv, Ashkelon, Modiin, and Beersheba.

The Gaza-based Palestinian group, Hamas, has vowed to hit Israeli targets in retaliation against air strikes on Gaza Strip and the police attack on Palestinian worshippers at Al Aqsa Mosque.

Palestinian Health Ministry in the West Bank said that the Israeli forces had martyred 11 Palestinians and wounded about 600, during violent confrontations that erupted in many cities and villages.

Another series of Israeli air assaults hit the Shati refugee camp in Gaza killing at least two women, including six children, while burying several others in the rubble.

Reportedly, another air raid hit a house in Khan Yunis.

Thousands of Palestinian families have taken shelter in United Nations-run schools in northern Gaza to escape Israeli artillery fire and relentless airstrikes.

The UN has stated that approximately 10,000 Palestinians have left their homes in Gaza amid the Israeli offensive.

Meanwhile, the United Arab Emirates has expressed grave concern about the escalation of violence in Israel and Palestine and called for a ceasefire and the start of a diplomatic dialogue.

More than 1000 Palestinians were injured in Jerusalem and across the occupied West Bank in recent weeks.
