After Punjab, air ambulance to be launched in KP
It has also been decided to establish a motorbike response unit for the densely populated areas of the province.
Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has decided to start air ambulance service in the province.
The provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has taken a principled decision to start air ambulance service in the province and Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa directed the relevant authorities to take necessary steps to start the service practically in the next four months.
In the meeting of the Health Department chaired by the Chief Minister Ali Amin, it has also been decided to establish a motorbike response unit for the densely populated areas of the province. Acting as an aid service, these units will be equipped with modern equipment and essential medicines required to provide first aid.
It was also decided in the meeting to declare the Hayatabad area of Peshawar as a Healthcare City. The aim of the Health City is to provide all modern medical facilities to domestic and foreign patients at one place.
The meeting also decided to establish Health Information and Service Delivery Unit to monitor and improve health service delivery in government hospitals of the province.
In the meeting, it has also been decided to start an executive health check-up program for senior citizens in the major government hospitals of the province.
Under the program, citizens above 65 years of age will be checked up free of charge every three months. For this purpose, a separate desk and staff will be allocated in the major government hospitals of the province for these free check-ups include lab tests, CT scan, MRI, X-ray, echo and ECG etc.
In order to stabilize the primary health care system in the province, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, while giving orders, said that steps should be taken to provide ultrasound, operation theater and gynecology services in primary health centers and rural health centers.
The availability of doctors, nurses and other paramedical staff in these health centers should be ensured at all times. All Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) hospitals should be upgraded and included in the health card panel. All District Headquarters (DHQ) hospitals of the province should be state-of-the-art hospitals, added chief minister.
