Fixed tax to be imposed on KP’s wedding halls, salons
The KP government has decided to divide salons and beauty parlors into different categories based on their size and volume of business.
Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to impose a fixed tax on wedding halls and beauty salons in the province from the next financial year.
The KP government has decided to divide salons and beauty parlors into different categories based on their size and volume of business, on which different fixed rates of sales tax on services will be applicable and the owners will pay their monthly tax to Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies (CAPRA).
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Finance Advisor said that for sales tax on services of the province, those who pay by credit card at restaurants, hotels will be taxed at 13 percent instead of 15 percent.
Revenue Authority Director General Fawzia Iqbal of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa met with Chief Minister's Advisor on Finance Department Muzammil Aslam and gave him a detailed briefing regarding CAPRA.
It was decided in the meeting that the owners of wedding halls and beauty parlors will be given the option to choose between fixed rates and percentage rates of sales tax on services after which they will pay their monthly tax CAPRA according to their chosen system. Will submit.
The finance adviser stated that strict legal action will be taken against the business person or organization involved in tax evasion. For these measures, amendments will be made in the KP Sales Tax on Services Act 2022.
Muzammil Aslam continued to say that the aim of these measures is to build confidence in the provincial government, taxpayers and the business community, while all decisions will be implemented after consultation with business organizations and representatives of the Chamber of Commerce.
