LHC prevents govt from giving electric bikes to students
The court sought a detailed report regarding the distribution of bikes in the cities
Lahore: The Lahore High Court (LHC) Friday barred the Punjab government from providing the students with electric bikes till Monday. The court made the draw of electronic bikes subject to the court order.
The smog remediation case was heard in the LHC. During the hearing, the court stopped the government from providing the students with electric bikes till Monday.
The court asked the government to provide electric buses to the colleges instead of the bikes. The court also summoned the details of the project from the Punjab government.
Justice Shahid Karim while giving a reprimand said that if the students are given electronic bikes then they will do one-wheeling. The students will go outside the girls' educational institutions. They should be attracted towards public transport.
The court sought a detailed report regarding the distribution of bikes in the cities.
