Maryam orders essential measures for land records digitisation

Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Saturday directed to take necessary steps for land record digitisation.

A special meeting was held under the chairmanship of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz regarding Board of Revenue Reforms in which Punjab Urban Land Systems in Enhancement (PULSE) project was briefed. Punjab Land Record Authority and Management of State Land also briefed on business plan issues.

During the briefing, it was informed that digitisation of land records is being done under the PULSE project with the support of World Bank. The honor-based digitization of all places of Punjab will be done. The revenue system will be made transparent through partition of land and parcel documents.

It was said in the meeting that the government will declare all clear properties ‘green’. The land with issues will be declared ‘yellow’ and ‘red’. The proposal to end the joint account system will be seriously reviewed, getting a separate property number for each buyer will reduce legal complications.

In the briefing, it was stated that the system of individual ownership and transfer of land will also be simplified by digitalization. The overview of Overseas Property Transfer Service for Overseas Pakistanis, Overseas Property Transfer Service is providing facility of personalization, mutation, e-filing and registration.

On this occasion, Chief Minister directed to take necessary steps for digitization and ordered to ensure the participation of relevant departments in the process.

Information Minister Azma Bokhari, Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Sania Ashiq, Chief Secretary, Chairman P&D, SMU Head and other officials attended the meeting.

Arson case: Gandapur's interim bail extended till May 28

Rawalpindi: District and Sessions Court Rawalpindi Saturday extended the interim bail of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur till May 28.

According to the details, the interim bail plea of Ali Amin Gandapur in the case of arson and interference in the government property was heard in the Additional District and Sessions court. Advocate Muhammad Faisal Malik appeared on behalf of the Chief Minister.

During the hearing, a request was made for exemption from the attendence of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which was approved by the court.

Exemption from attendance was requested due to engagement in government affairs.

Later, the Additional District and Sessions Judge extended the interim bail of Ali Amin Gandapur till May 28.

It is pertinent to note that a case has been registered against Ali Amin Gandapur in Nasirabad police station.

Fire breaks out in paint manufacturing factory in Sadiqabad

Sadiqabad: A fire broke out in a paint manufacturing factory in Sadiqabad Tehsil of Rahim Yar Khan District of Punjab, the largest province of the country.

According to the details, rescue officials said that due to the presence of chemicals in the factory, the fire went out of control, and engulfed the entire factory.

They further informed that five fire brigade vehicles are engaged in efforts to extinguish the fire in the factory.

According to the rescue authorities, the cause of the fire in the factory could not be known immediately.

It is pertinent to note that no loss of life or property has been reported as yet.
