Punjab CTD arrests four alleged terrorists, interrogate 39 suspects in 37 IBOs

Lahore: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Punjab claims to have arrested four suspects besides interrogating 39 others during 37 intelligence based operations (IBOs) across the province.
 
According to a CTD spokesman, the CTD teams conducted extensive IBOs across the province to effectively counter the challenge of terrorism across the country particularly target killings of security officials.
 
During the IBOs, three suspects-- Muhammad Yousaf s/o Muhammad Yaqoob, Ashraf Kamboh s/o Ghulam Nabi and Habib ur Rehman s/o Inayat Ullah -- were arrested from Gujranwala. They belong to defunct organization ‘ISIS’.
 
The CTD also recovered explosive material 2,500 gm, three detonators, 11ft safety fuse, three cell phones, two CNIC and cash Rs 17,760 from them.
 
However, another suspect namely Muhammad Usman s/o Muhammad Saeed belonged to defunct organization ‘Daesh’ was arrested from Chiniot.
 
The suspect was collecting funds for financial support of his organization while a receipt book and cash Rs 13,300 were also recovered from him.
 
The spokesman said the CTD Punjab was proactively pursuing its goal of safe and secure Punjab so it would not leave any stone unturned to bring terrorists and anti-state elements behind bars.
