Shireen Mazari says she will not quit PTI

The PTI leader says she never incited people to violence, and especially on May 9 –the day when Imran Khan was set ablaze.

Lahore: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Dr. Shireen Mazari said she would not quit the party and rejected all the allegations that she incited the people to violence.

“I will not quit PTI,” said Dr. Yasmin Rashid while responding to a question whether she was leaving the party or not. She made this statement during her appearance before the court in a case related to violence on May 9.

The PTI leader said that she did not incite people on violence, saying that her audios of stopping people from committing violence were also there as proof.

The police booked Dr. Yasmin Rashid under anti-terrorism charges over violence protests in the city on the day when the party chairman Imran Khan was arrested from Islamabad High Court in Al-Qadir Trust case.

The protests were recorded across the country after the PTI chief’s arrest. Many properties belonging to civilian and the military were damaged and ablaze that day.

However, PTI Chairman Imran Khan said that he was behind the bars and did not know exact what was going on but he said that he ran a peaceful and democratic movements since the day he established the party.
