SC to hear petitions against Audio Leaks Commission today

The last verdict of Apex Court stated that parties can submit their reply to the response of the Audio Leaks Commission.

Islamabad: Supreme Court will hear the petitions filed against the Audio Leaks Inquiry Commission today (Tuesday) at 12:00pm.

According to details, a five-member bench headed by Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandial comprising Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan, Justice Muneeb Akhtar, Justice Syed Hasan Azhar Rizvi and Justice Shahid Waheed will hear the case.

The court had issued notices to parties including Attorney General of Pakistan (AGP) Mansoor Awan Usman. However Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman, President Supreme Court Bar Abid Zubairi and Advocate Hanif had submitted the petitions. 

It is pertinent to note that Supreme Court had also issued a written verdict for the last hearing of the Audio Leaks Commission case.

In the decree issued by the Supreme Court, Attorney General Mansoor Awan said that the federal government has objected to the five-member larger bench. It has also given a written appeal against the judges. Therefore, Registrar's Office should register the request of the federal government.

The verdict of Apex Court stated that parties can submit their reply to the response of the Audio Leaks Commission.
