Balochistan govt fails to prepare budget for next financial year
Now it is likely to be presented on June 19.
Quetta: Balochistan government failed to complete the budget preparations for next financial year 2023-24.
According to details, the budget meeting had been delayed due to the non-completion of the documents. Now it is likely to be presented on June 19.
The finance department of Balochistan has asked for more time regarding the preparation of the budget documents, due to which the schedule of the budget meeting has been changed.
Assembly Secretary stated that Governor Balochistan has called the budget session of the Provincial Assembly on June 19 at 4:00 pm instead of today (June 16).
Spokesperson of Balochistan Chief Minister Babar Yousafzai said: “The public-friendly budget of the next financial year will include important projects in education, health and other departments”.
It is also reported that the budget of Balochistan for the next financial year is likely to reach Rs700 billion.
The estimated revenue in the budget is Rs529.32 billion, while the budget deficit is likely to be more than Rs150 billion. The development budget is Rs200 billion.
More than 5000 jobs and 30 percent increase in the salaries of government employees have been proposed.
