Pakistan, Iran inks investment agreements
Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto emphasized that Pakistan has strong and historical ties with Iran.
Islamabad: Pakistan and Iran have signed trade and investment agreements to enhance economic cooperation between the two nations.
Iranian Foreign Minister, Hussein Amir Abdollahian, arrived in Pakistan where he was warmly received by Foreign Minister, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, with both ministers planting a tree at the Foreign Office.
During their meeting, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Iranian Foreign Minister, Hussein Amir Abdollahian, signed trade and investment agreements.
Later, during a joint press conference at the Foreign Office, Bilawal Bhutto stated that Pakistan shares deep-rooted historical ties with Iran.
The Foreign Minister mentioned that Pakistan can benefit from Iran's electricity supply for Gwadar Hospital, and Iran has played a crucial role in providing electricity to Gwadar.
He expressed Pakistan's desire to expand bilateral relations with Iran.
Bilawal Bhutto emphasized having free trade with Iran and exploring opportunities for cooperation in various sectors, calling for the expansion of the economic cooperation organization.
On this occasion, the Iranian Foreign Minister expressed condolences for the Balochistan tragedy, conveying his sympathies to the people and government of Pakistan.
