PIA administration decides to negotiate with employees over privatization

Islamabad: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) administration on Monday decided to hold talks with the workers who had been protesting against the company's privatization and asking for pay increases.
According to the information, PIA employees have been protesting for a number of days in order to demand pay raises and to oppose the privatization of the national flag carrier.
The administration is prepared to talk with PIA's CBA representatives, according to the general manager of industrial relations (GM-IR) of the airline.
PIA's GM-IR has reportedly sent a written answer to the National Industrial Relations Commission (NIRC) stating that the PIA Chairman will personally negotiate with the workers, according to the sources.
The National Industrial Relations Commission (NIRC) has officially summoned the PIA GM of Welfare IR and PIA CBA representatives on September 9.

Fed up with the every day strike of the employees, management of the airlines ordered strict action to the heads of Lahore, Islamabad and Karachi.
In the meeting, it was decided that if Daily Wages employees protest, they will be dismissed from their jobs. Action will be taken against the head who does not take action against the employees.
